Celebrating Summer & Childhood Memories With Solo Cups

Solo Cup 2

You all know them and love  them!  They’re the staples at every BBQ and family reunion and they’re also in our pantries…they’re Solo Cups!    We’ve used them for years and now they want to give back to us by offering with Mom Select a “Summer Sponsored by Solo” kit.

I was more than excited to receive my Summer fun kit in the mail recently and the kids were all over it!  The white box came with everything we’d need for a little summer fun in our backyard.  Bubbles – check.  Cookies -check.  Kool-Aid, sidewalk chalk, pixie sticks, water balloons – check, check, check, check. SOLO CUPS – CHECK!

Off the kids went, into the backyard carrying their treasure box of goodies to have some good old fashioned summer fun while I mixed the Kool-Aid and Dad filled the water balloons outside at the spigot.  They dug right into the bubbles and sidewalk chalk.  We ended up with some messy children who were full of laughter and giggles for most of the afternoon.

IMG_3348My daughter, Ella loves to pretend and brings her little brother along for the many adventures she takes daily.  This day, she decided to make a Kool-Aid stand and involve us all. “Mom, let’s make a sign.”  Dad, bring the supplies to my house” she said as we all made our way to her little playhouse in the far corner of the yard.

Andrew, only 14 months old, wanted to be just like his big sis and drink Kool-Aid out of his big boy Solo cup too.  Needless to say, I think most of the sweet summer drink and ice ended up on the ground than in his mouth.  But, boy was he proud!

We played in the backyard for what seemed like the entire afternoon.  It was a perfect day with just enough sun to warm your skin, yet enough breeze to cool you off and a big shade tree to rest under.  You know, when the kids are little like this,  it really is those little moments  in life that seem to stand out.  And this day was one of  those moments and a childhood summer memory we won’t forget was created for my family, thanks to Solo Cups and their “Summer Sponsored by Solo” kit.

*Solo sponsored a contest where you could submit your photos enjoying Solo Cups and their summer fun kit.  I’m so excited to say that Ella and Andrew both won daily prizes AND Ella’s picture also won a weekly prize!  How great is it that we had such a wonderful time enjoying these products and the kids were able to win a prize for having so much fun?!

Great pics! Love the lemonade stand. Always appreciate a budding entrepreneur. Although her water balloon prices are too low. :)

Hey, mom called to tell me of your webpage and big recent winnings. Sorry it’s taken so long to get here but being a new mom myself, I just haven’t had the time. The pictures of the kids are adorable and makes me miss them and you guys all the more. I wish you all were closer so Gracen would grow up knowing you all. I am trying to become more computer educated. My first goal is to learn how to just look at the downloaded pics of Gracen I have never seen of her birthday and baptism due to them being downloaded by Greg and Kelsey before my viewing and therefore lost forever in cyber-space. Once I can find them, the second goal is to be able to share them….Anyway, great to see the kids pics and hope to see you all in real life soon! Love you all!

Awww…Mindy! I miss you too!! I hate that we’re not closer. It really does bother me that my kids don’t know you all like I do and that I don’t know your children better. Hopefully, one day things will line out and we’ll be closer. You never know where life is going to take you. (we know that, huh?!) I would love to see more photos of Gracen! Have Kelsey email them to me!!
I love and miss you all!!!
