Plastic bottles such as shampoo and soap bottles take up 25% of the space in landfills.
Instead of buying a new bottle of shampoo, hand soap or lotion every time you run out, run to your local store and buy the larger container and refill your bottles!
I really enjoy the Method foaming hand soap and it is a staple in my home. But there are MANY green options for beauty and home products at your local store.
I particularly like the Method foaming hand soaps because they are safe for my family and the environment, the kids love that they are all foamy and fun when they pump it out and love to help mom fill the bottle back up with the bags of the refillable soap. There are many brands that offer a larger size in eco-friendly packaging to refill your smaller bottles. And even some retailers allow you to bring in your bottles to refill from their supply!
So, next time you’re out of your lotion, try refilling instead of buying a whole new bottle. You’ll save some money AND keep 1 less bottle out of the landfills!
