My 3yr old daughter LOVES watching PBS Sprout and I have to drag her away most days. Even though I KNOW that kids shouldn’t watch too much TV, (blah blah, blah) she really does learn a lot.
Examples:
“Mom, Oxyclean gets tough stains out!”
“Mom, we have to leave the cup there for a few days and go back to get it. They will fire it in an oven and the colors will brighten and harden. Caillou told me that” (As we are getting ready to go to paint pottery for the 1st time at a studio)
I told Ella to go get her shoes out of the closet and she started singing…
“We going to the closet, we’re going on a trip, we’re going to the closet to grab our stuff and split! We’re going on a cool adventure and we don’t know what’s in store, we’re coming from the closet and heading out the door!” (that’s from Zoobamafoo in case you didn’t know! I’m sure the The Ohana Mama will appreciate that one!)
Oh, and she does know about a million other little songs and and tidbits of facts of animals, recycling and safety. But to be fair to her, she does do the stretches at night with Nina and Star before bed and even does the little dances when they come on. So, she does get some exercise! LOL!
Well, I guess there could be worse things she could sing. We won’t mention to her grandparents that she started singing “My Sex Is On Fire” by Kings of Leon the other day while she was playing. Guess I better save that one to play in the van while I’m alone!
So, do you think we should watch less Sprout in our house? Nah…I don’t think so either! : )

Or “watch what happens” Yeah….we like tv in our house!
I know they are so cute, huh??!! I saw today a commercial on PRS that said “TV is the window to the world to your child!” : )
We don’t get that channel, I really wish we did!
OH – you have to get it! I swear the kids learn so much! I caught myself drawn into Zooboomafoo this morning while they talked about water creatures! LOL
Oh now I feel better, LOL I thought only my kid watches too much of the PBS
she loves the shows there, and now at 4 that she loves games and stuff she is on their website too playing a little every other day! They do have so many educational programs and kiddos learn a lot.
LOL! Yes, Ella walked in the other day and said…OH Mom, you’re doing picme! LOL Too funny!
OH – she is just hilarious!
I know. Her little mind is like a sponge at this age! I’m excited for her to start preschool and start learning so much. She’s gonna love it!
My two toddlers LOVE Sprout, I have all the shows memorized lol.
LOL! I can understand why! Those little songs are catchy!
You think that’s bad my daughter is 1 and already a Sprout Addict… and although we all complain, we often find ourselves watching even when she’s asleep, or not home, and we ALL sing the songs. I said I was going to go to the Wiggles concert, and hold my lighter up jamming out to a little “Fruit Salad, Yummy Yummy!”
