Green Tip: All-Natural Dish Detergent

by Kasey on October 3, 2009 · 4 comments

green kidsMake the switch to an all- natural dish detergent for your sink or dishwasher machine.

So simple, but something you may over look. Most detergents contain  petroleum that is made from the same crude oil used to make gasoline, a known carcinogen – something you do not want to be eating or putting back into the environment!

Opt for vegetable-based detergents that are milder and made from all natural ingredients.

All-natural products are readily available and very affordable in most stores today. Seventh Generation, Method and Mrs. Meyers are just a few of the choices out there.

So, make sure to pick up a bottle while out this weekend!  You’ll be making small change that will have a big impact on your health and the environment!

You know… Method products have changed our life! There is really no reason not to use them… as far as my investigations have shown anyway. Maybe someone else can chime in. I thought SIGG was “all that” too until they confessed to the BPA. But… back to Method… great, inexpensive, environmentally conscious products. Love their baby products too!

I LOVE Method as well. That’s mostly what we use and use the whole line. So affordable and easy to pick up on our Target trips.

I have not tried the baby products, but need to! I’m on it today when I head to Target. Will let you know! : )

Great tip!!! I’ve been using “Earth Friendly” dish soap for hand washing dishes for a while but I recently bought a huge bottle of Costco’s Kirkland eco-friendly stuff. Very reasonably priced!
