It’s December 8th and I am no where near finished with my Christmas Shopping.
Back in September, I told myself that with every paycheck, I’d pick up a couple of gifts so that the “blow” at Christmas wouldn’t be too bad. That didn’t work out so well. I think I picked up 2 or 3 gifts.
So, we’ve been trying for the last 3 weekends to get out for a few hours and at least pick up some gifts for the kids. The 1st weekend, my sister, who is going to watch the kids for the day so we don’t have to pay a babysitter on top of all the shopping we need to do, was busy. The next weekend, I got sick. And this past weekend, my husband who NEVER gets sick, got sick. Now, the kids are coming down with a cold, but hopefully it only lasts a few days.
We’re going to try again this weekend! Crossing my fingers and toes that everyone is well and healthy. I am really looking forward to the day out alone with my husband. It’s a rare luxury around here!
Have you finished your Christmas shopping or are you rushing around like me trying to finish up?

We are pretty much done…our boys are young (3 & 5) and are pretty easy to buy frugally for right now. I do need to make sure we have a man’s gift for my family’s gift exchange and I may want to grab a few stocking stuffers for the boys. Thats about it. This year I did some photo gifts…desk calendars and a set of coasters. It was a very different approach to me but the deals were so good and pictures make good gifts!
Thanks for stopping by my blog -btw! You have a nice blog yourself!
I love photos as gifts! What a wonderful idea for family!
I only have 3 people left to buy for. you being one of them. I always save the hardest for last u, sheila and Katie. Ha ha. This year it was not me waiting till the day before Christmas to shop (my usual holiday tradition), but C.C. made me go out a few days after work and shop. I just wanted to go home and “wait till later” but no he made me go and I feel really good about it.
Good for you1 I remember it wasn’t long ago that you and I were shopping on the 23rd in that mad mall traffic! haha! That was a mess! Hopefully, we’ll get a lot done this weekend.
BTW….I’m not that hard to buy for!! HAHA
Almost done, we just have a couple of gifts to pick up at the last minute. For once, we’re ahead of the game and it feels great!

Oh I bet! Just once I’d like to be ahead of the game. NEXT YEAR! I promise!
I live in Israel but I still have to get some gifts to dear friends who celebrate (and some family too). I went with homemade crocheted and knitted scarves this year, and made them all long ago, so they’re in the mail (some already arrived). Still have to send out some gift certificates though.
