The day after Christmas brought lots of snow and family!
It had rained for the 48 hours leading up to Christmas, so I thought that all possibilities of a white Christmas was not happening. But, as the day went on, the temperatures dropped and by evening we had a dusting of the white stuff covering everything!
Ella was so excited and wanted to build a snowman. I had to break it to her that there wasn’t even enough to pack a snowball!
The day after Christmas, as we expected a visit from my Dad and sister, Katie from Cincinnati, the snow started again! It fell, and fell and fell! I started to worry that the roads would get bad and Dad and Katie wouldn’t make it, but they did!
My other sister, Kari and her finace, CC, also came up to enjoy some quality family time.
We had a wonderful, yet short, visit! We opened gifts, made Oatmeal cookies, chatted a while, and headed to a local pizza place for dinner. It was a perfect visit! Ella and Andrew got to play and spend time with their Pop Pop and I got the joy of seeing how happy it made them all.
Dad and Katie spent the night, but the snow continued to fall and they had leave extra early the next morning.
As the day went on, the snow still fell and Ella and Andrew were itching to head outside. (me, not so much!) It was cold and windy and I don’t have snow pants. But, being the wonderful mom that I am, I bundled them up with their dad and we all headed out!
It was a fun couple of days that didn’t last near long enough. But, at least we were able to spend some time with the ones we love, no matter how brief!

You are welcome anytime!!
That one picture of her little face covered in snow is so sweet. We were in Ohio for Christmas but didn’t get much snow at all. My brother plows snow in the winter and poor guy was obsessed with the weather. I was really hoping my kids would get to play in the snow but it didn’t happen. And, then I remembered we don’t have any snow gear so it was all good.

Oh that’s too bad!! Snow is fun to play in – for a bit AND if you have gloves!!
Sounds like it was a wonderful visit! The photo of your little boy with snow on his face is wonderful! Ahh, to be young and enjoy the snow and cold.
