I haven’t posted in a while…it seems that life has been too busy to sit down and write about it. But, today…today is a special day. A day that I will remember forever. Mother’s Day.
What a wonderful, bittersweet day. As a mom, I cherish this day. As a motherless daughter, I dread it most years. But, today…I looked forward to it. To the day that I would spend as a mother with my children. Laughing, cuddling, loving and playing – just being together as a family.
We’ve been going to church lately. It’s something that I haven’t written about much…but something that has filled my life and my heart beyond belief. The children have loved our time going to church and I can’t be more grateful for those I have met and that have treated us all like family. And today, on Mother’s Day, we dedicated our children, Ella and Andrew, to a life of learning and living in the footsteps of the Lord. What an amazing gift to give and to receive as a mother. What more of a gift could I have asked for?
I stood with my husband, before God and the entire congregation and promised to be the best parent I could be on a daily basis with Jesus as my guide.
I know that the road will not be easy, as raising children is always a challenge. As our Pastor said today – “we are all amateurs when it comes to being a parent”.
We will always love and guide our children the best we know how for their entire lives. I will be the best mom I know how and will do so with the help and guidance of my Lord.
I pray that your Mother’s Day was just as meaningful to you as mine was for me.
It was indeed a good day.
Happy Mother’s Day.
