Have I told you how much I hate clutter?
Oh Yeah…on more than one occasion, I believe I’ve mentioned it.
Well, I’ll say it again – I. HATE. CLUTTER. Clutter makes me cringe. Clutter makes me anxious and uptight. Clutter makes me not want to breath until it is cleared from my sight and replaced with clean, bare surfaces.
The problem with my little obsession, is that I have 7 children in my in- home daycare ranging from 12 months to 5 years of age between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday thru Friday. Yep. You heard me right…SEVEN CHILDREN. And, with 14 hands grabbing and 14 feet running, my house is NEVER clean and clutter free. Well, that’s not entirely true. My house is clean and clutter free from Sunday night around 10pm until 7:30am on Monday morning. So, for that small amount of time, my world is right.
So, what to do? What to do to stay sane while having that many kids in my house and still not obsess about clutter and mess? Well, ORGANIZE, OF COURSE!
Finding time to clean and organize does not come easy. It’s sometimes a week or two before I get around to cleaning a corner or storing a toy that isn’t being used anymore. But, when I get to do it…man, does it feel good!
You may remember that I was on a mission to organize my home last Fall. I haven’t forgotten about it…but I haven’t been able to do a whole lot over the Winter since I have so many kids around daily. BUT – I’m BACK, ready to GET ORGANIZED and I’m going to share each step of the way with you!
Here’s a before photo of my first project of the Summer.
It’s a Playroom Makeover! YAY!
As you can see…the room is dark, cluttered and not organized efficiently. My goal is to lighten it up, create more space to play in and organize so that toys are easily accessable to all the children.
The good news is that I’ve already started! YES – you won’t have to wait long to see the finished product! I’ve only a few finishing touches to add and it will be ready for an unveiling.
Here’s a sneak peak….
OK – that’s all I’m sharing for now! It’s gonna be awesome!
In the meantime…do you have the most awesome playroom around? Do you have a favorite website that has amazing kid spaces? Link us up! Show us your dream playrooms! I’m always up for inspiration to make our space better!

Love the wall decals. Can’t wait to see the rest!
Thanks, Chelsea! I’m excited to share!
I’m loving the wall decals too. Definitely looks like you’ve started to lighten up the room. I hate the clutter too.

The color is perfect! I love it the more I see it!
I LOVE Pottery Barn! I wish I could afford so much of what they have, or at least was creative enough to “re-create” it with other things. Can’t wait to see your finished playroom – looks great so far!
I am a Pottery Barn fool – but can’t afford it either! (pssst….JCPenney’s has a lot of what you need to “re-create” the same looks!)
We don’t have a playroom. O wait, yes we do. The whole house.
I have those wall decals! They were kind of a disaster due to a toddler who enjoyed ripping them down…and didn’t help that the plaster textured walls weren’t too decal friendly. I still love them. They are so cute.
Love your kitchen set.
Yep – sounds like our house!!
I can’t wait to see the rest. That wall is beautiful! I can’t stand clutter either, it really drives me nuts.

Clutter makes me crazy! I’m loving the new organization in the playroom! The kids are doing a great job, as well!
It’s beautiful! I love the color of the wall, the owl, the flowers… Can’t wait to see the finished product!
