Happy 1 Year Blogiversary To Me!

by Kasey

WOW!  It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing this little blog, All Things Mamma for 1 year now.  280 posts and 2,567 comments later, I’m still here!  I started out writing about my family and life experiences and gradually grew to include vlogs, reviews, giveaways, feature posts and bloggers and green tips.

I thought for my 1 year Blogiversary post, I’d let you know a little more about me.  So…here’s some Q&A’s from some of my blog readers:

Kori at A Story of a Princess and her Hair asks:  How many kids do you have, and what are their ages/genders?

I have two children.  Ella is 4 and Andrew is 2. They are great kids who keep me quite busy!

Heather at Home to Heather asks:  How have you changed since becoming a mom?

I feel like my life now as a mom and my life without children are two totally different lives and different times.  Before children, I was a full-time working, social butterfly.  Now, I run an in-home daycare and hardly ever “go out”.  I think my life has changed for the better and wouldn’t change a thing.  Well, maybe I would change how much sleep I get!  HaHa!

Jenn at Frugal Front Porch asks:  What’s your favorite non-mommy thing to do?

That’s an easy one!  Shopping at Target with a Starbucks Latte in-hand!   I can’t think of anything else I would choose to do if I had an hour of free-time.

Karen at 3 Garnets & 2 Sapphires asks: Why did you start blogging?

Good question!  I started blogging when I was asked by a friend of mine to help her run a local site.  The world of blogging was a totally new concept to me and I was pulled in!  I remember feeling so excited and nervous to share my thoughts and feelings on a blog.  I felt so self-conscious about my words and didn’t know if people would find me silly sounding or even dumb.  I’ve always been pretty decent at writing, so it was a surprise to me that I would be so worried about it.   I remember my 1st comment and how excited I was!!  It was kind of addicting, doing posts and checking my stats and seeing how many people had came to my blog and actually commented.  I was hooked!

Cocktails With Mom asks:  How much of your personality do you think comes through on your blog?

I think a lot of my personality comes through on my blog.  I think you can totally tell that I am a busy mom who loves her kids and husband.  I think you can see that I love to take photos and share stories – good and bad about my life and that I love working on going green and sharing my tips with you all.  That all being said, I believe I hold back a lot as well.  I find at times, especially when I am struggling with something in my life, that I don’t share as much as I’d like for fear of someone thinking less of me or offending someone.  Most of my readers are people I know online but a lot of them are people I know in real life.  I know that I shouldn’t worry about what people will think – but I think that’s just human.  My goal in the next year is to get more authentic – to share whatever I feel at the time of posting and to get past worrying about what someone may or may not think about me.

Suzana from Firefly Blog (and the 1st ever commenter on my blog!) asks:  Is your blog what you hoped it would be~What do you wish your blog to be in another year?

I do think it’s what I hoped it would be and more.  I didn’t foresee myself being a popular blogger with lots of comments and friends, but it has become that and more!  I feel that I get a lot of good opportunities to review some great products and I’ve gained a lot of knowledge on the blogging and Internet world and about myself in the process.

Would I like my blog to be more successful?  Would I like to be making some real money like MckMama or taking trips to Cancun like my friend, Tenille, or test driving some appliances like Kim? – HECK YEAH!  Who wouldn’t?!  So, what do I wish for my blog?  For it to become more of a career for me in the next year.  I’d like to take on more of the local work/posts that I’ve been offered and to focus on growing in the blog world and in my personal posts – for you to know ME better!

So, there you go!  A little bit about me and my life.  I hope you enjoyed!

I also want to thank you all for coming by and supporting me for the last year.   I love reading your comments and visiting new blogs.  It’s definitely enriched my life for the better!  Thank you!!

Happy Bloggiversary!

I would love to have the same results with my blog but I think my big changes can wait until my kids are in school full time during the day. Then I’ll have more time to focus on my blog and not feel like it takes away from my family. I also want to write about me more, and I am subscribing to your blog right now so that I can get to know you better!

HI!

I agree that blogging can take a lot of time away from your family – it’s hard to find a balance. Right now, I try to blog at night after the kids are in bed. Some nights I’m too tired, and that ‘s OK. I’m trying to not pressure myself, but also trying to work toward a goal. I’m sue once the kids are in school – there will be much more time for sure!

Thanks for subscribing to my blog, too! I’m so glad!!!
