Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies are at the top of my comfort foods list and I’m always searching for new recipes of it to try out at home. Up until now,  I was a big fan of the tried and true Nestle Toll House recipe, but this new recipe I found on All Recipes.com may have just surpassed it.

This is a super easy recipe and pretty close to others I’ve tried, but there’s something that makes this cookie stand out.   It’s nice and crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. Very enjoyable – even days after baking them.  Try it for yourself and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

Make sure to share these Chocolate Chip Cookies with your friends and neighbors or you will end up eating them all – like I did!

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons hot water

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts (I omitted the walnuts)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.

Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

    • We’re not huge “nuts in cookies” fans either, so I usually leave the nuts out. I was really happy with this recipe! How resourceful are you, adding Candy Melts when you don’t have chips??!! Good tip!
