When it comes to Halloween, there is no such thing as too much candy. It is the one day of the year when you can eat candy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Even after a candy-filled day, you are sure to have some leftovers, which is where these cookie bars come into play. They are the perfect treat to use up all of that leftover candy.

If you love cookies and candy, you are going to love these leftover Halloween cookie bars. They basically take the base of your favorite chocolate chip cookie and replace the chocolate with loads of Halloween candy. The bars allow you to get all of your favorite candy pieces in one big bite, making it so you don’t have to choose between all of your favorite candy.

These cookie bars are overloaded with candy in the best way possible. The bars have a very neutral base, allowing the candy pieces to be the star of the show. Because of that, you can customize the bars in any way you like. Go crazy with chocolate, add peanut butter cups, or experiment with whatever is left in your trick-or-treating bag for a fun surprise.

The key to getting these bars a little gooey, like your favorite cookie, is underbaking them in the slightest way. Right when the edges of the bars start to turn a nice golden brown, take them out of the oven and let them cool. As they cool, they will finish cooking and turn gooey on the inside. It may seem a little counterproductive to take the cookie bars out of the oven a little early, but it will make it so they have the perfect texture.

HOW TO STORE LEFTOVER HALLOWEEN CANDY BARS

The bars will last about a week in an airtight container. You can keep them in the fridge to make sure they last longer. The chocolate will also stay intact and won’t melt if refrigerated.

The bars will also freeze very well, allowing you to extend the life of your Halloween candy even longer. Slice the bars into squares and wrap them in plastic wrap. Place them in the freezer, where they should last about 2-3 months.
